This morning we packed the caravan up and then the boys and I went to the ‘Warrnambool Undercover Market’ while Trevor finished off. Pretty typical of markets everywhere – nothing very exciting except for the fresh produce. But then we made our way along the Great Ocean Road.
Shortly after leaving Warrnambool we came across ‘Cheeseworld’ in Allenson which was a big commercial operation but at the same time, was really good fun! They had a display of vintage machinery, cheese tasting, a cheese showroom with cheeses from all over Australia and a museum with lots of “old stuff” – like a copper, wash board and wringer, a windmill and bore pump that you could turn (see the great photo of Harry below), lots of horse gear like collars and harness. It was great to be able to explain “the olden days” things with real props.
Later we saw some of the stunning rock formations that are synonymous with the road. These are two pictures of me alongside ‘Martyr’s Bay’ that Trevor insisted on taking. Mind you, listening to him talk sometimes I think that I should have been taking the photo rather than being the subject…
We’re looking forward to seeing a lot more tomorrow!
