Moree

For the past few days we've been staying in the Moree Showgrounds. We came to Moree to visit Trevor’s cousin Lauren and meet her new baby Beau. He is just 11 weeks old and simply adorable! Lauren is doing such a great job as a Mum – Beau is a very happy, content baby ….

Moree’s claim to fame is their artesian bore which supplies naturally heated mineralised water. The Shire has the ‘hot springs’ built into their swimming pool where we spent a couple of hours today. The water felt wonderful! They are in the middle of redeveloping a new swimming centre which should be fantastic when finished. Trevor reflected that the City of Bunbury has recently spent around one million dollars to develop their pool’s solar based heating – Moree wouldn’t have anything like this cost.

The last time I was in natural hot spring was a gazillion years ago in Banff in Canada. It was very different of course, but I loved being able to describe to Max and Harry how wonderful it was to be "in hot springs like these" but at night with a deep coloured starry sky surrounded by snow covered mountains.

A hot spring to sit in sounds like heaven to me just now although I have a good fire going tonight!!
