old memories

Yesterday we arrived at the town of Esperance. It reminds us of Albany and Bunbury which is not a surprise given it is a port town.

Max, Harry and Trevor rode their bikes to the Esperance jetty and saw 'Sammy the Seal' -

Harry says "In the water he splashed and he swimmed."

Max says "There was a picture of him on a stone and you could donate money because there was a slot in his head....and below the picture was a plate of metal with an inscription about Sammy the Seal. I can't remember what information it gave but he is real because in the water there is also a seal and it was Sammy and it seems that he goes there every day."

We stayed with James and Jo Ramsell and their two beautiful children John (4) and Justine (2). James and I went to primary school and high school together and had caught up on Facebook. We talked over lots of old memories and some new ones. Jo and Trevor gave up on us and went to bed, while James and I kept on yakking until about 2am. There were so many Roleystone and Kelmscott things and people to talk about!

It was just wonderful to see how well James is going - he has a great family, has just bought a house and is a management position with Telstra down here.

James and Liz
James and Harry are both 'Star Wars' mad and Harry was very excited that they could fight with pretend light sabres...
