I had read about ‘The Honey Place’ in a tourist magazine and was keen to have a look. All of a sudden we found it aside the Pacific Hwy and what a great find it was!

There were windows that could be opened to see a real bee hive at work. This was brilliant as Max and Harry have read about bees and beehives but seeing it for real is something else! We could taste all number of honeys such as ‘Thistle Honey’, ‘Honey and Ginger’ and even ‘Chilli Honey’.

Trevor and I enjoyed a Devonshire Tea with homemade pumpkin scones (yum!) and the boys shared some hot chips. The whole place had a great feel about it and it was a bit quirky with china dolls, knitted beanies and mounds of tourist information available as well as a plant nursery, dolls house furniture and second hand baby clothes.

The Pacific Hwy is being diverted so ‘The Honey Place’ won’t be so easy to find in the future. I hope it stays there as it is a unique business. I always like places like this that are just that little bit different.

I was so impressed with Max and Harry tonight as I had mentioned that I didn’t feel like cooking. The kids enthusiastically volunteered and look what they made!! They needed very little direction from us, lit the stove safely multiple times, both shared the chopping up carrots and worked together! Trevor's meal is on the right - eyes, nose and mouth. Love 'em!
